Good News So Far!

Hey, Good News!!! I have increased my indoor lagoon style reef pond setup to 6' x 4' x 1', about 150 gallons!! I am going to have two Carlson surges on it, one that runs from the 1000gph pump to an 18 gallon surge "bucket" (actually a storage tote, but whatever), and another that runs from a venturi attachment (that pushes water also, due to back pressure on the in-tank pump) to a 1000 gph pump, I will run a piece of airline tubing from the venturi into another 18 gallon surge that will fill SLO… Continue

Hi guys! Its been a while since Ive been on... time for MAJOR updates!

Anyway, Ive made an indoor reef pond that is 5.5ft x 2.5ft x 1 foot deep. I am putting the liner in today and adding only 30 gals of sw with a heater and an mj1200 (to "cycle" the 30 lbs of dry arag I am also getting today). In about 2 or 3 weeks, I will break down my 55 and use everything in that to fill it... In about 6 mos time, I will then getting a shark and stingray. I know what you are thinking, a shark and ray in a reef!!! But Ive thoroughly planned this out, and should not have much of… Continue

Update

The 187 gallon has been up and running now for 10 months and everything has finally stabilized from the transfer from the 100 gallon. Several corals browned out while in the holding tank and a few died but the ones that made it are finally coloring up. Come february I'll be replacing my skimmer (a birthday gift from the wife), and I will also be adding an ozonizer and a calcium reactor.
