thanks for the comments. water changes aren't too bad. we use the water from our main tank for changes on the clownfish fry tanks and then refill the main tank. works out to about 5% to 8% per day

Movin', movin', movin', keep those corals movin'...

We have been busy moving the corals out of my 30 gal over to the 100 gal. I keep having to hold my husband back, he wants to do it all in one day, but we are doing it a little at a time, drip by slow drip. We cannot find the camera otherwise I would be posting pictures. I know they are supposed to be "bad", but I never have had one iota of trouble from them. I think I will go get a few green chromis's today, see if I can't kick up the cycle again.

And she'll have fun, fun, fun, 'til her hubby takes her C-card away!

No Plenum, I had thought I would put one in but on further investigation I decided to forgo that piece. I added the H2O this afternoon and hooked up the pump. I have not added any salt yet as I am waiting for the water to clear. This is my first acrylic tank. It is a 100g bowfront and I am excited to get going. My plan is to move all the critters from my two nanos into the big ta… Continue

New Tank

I am going to start filling my 100 gal reef tank in the morning. It is going to be crazy. The plan is to put the sand bed in the early morning and I although I have an RO unit, I am having 100 gals of RO delivered in the morning. I will then start bring up the salinity and temp. Nitrogen cycle here I come. I will be adding live rock, which will cure in the tank....dum de dum dum!
