120 AGA RR open top mixed reef, 30 gal acrylic plenum fuge with chaeto, AquaC EV-180 skimmer powered by an iwaki 55rlt, Aquamedic light fixture (2X250 DE halaide supplemented with 2X54 T5) on 12 hrs/day, fuge is lighted 24/7 by a HD flood light 6K.

lighting question

how high should i keep my light fixture above the water level? I am lighting a 24 inch deep tank with 2X250 DE halides with 2X54 T5 blues. keeping a reef tank from softies to lps to sps.

HOW I GOT INTO THIS HOBBY...

i've had a freshwater tank for ove 6 years untill my kids decided to play with the heater on th tank and yank it up to the highest setting they can and i woke up one morning with all the fish floating. i already converted that into a FOWLER. my reef is a 120 gal AGA RR. i started in saltwater back in june of 2006 with a 55 gal tank after a long research and inquiries over the interne and through my friends who have reef tanks. so by June 3rd of 2006 i set up my 55 gal with LR & LS. af
