Well I decided to use a 55gal for my DT, and a 38gal for my sump/fuge. the fun part is designing the fuge. I got a good idea for the fuge size. But It's the DT drain side that the skimmer will be at, I just haven't figured out what size that section gonna be. I know I'm gonna build either a 2 x 2 or a 3 x 3 column that the DT drain pipe will dump in, to fill the skimmer section up after it passes thru a bubble trap.
I know it might be a overkill but I'm planning on putting 3 bubble traps in the sump/fuge. 1 from the main drain sectio into the skimmer, then the second one from the skimmer section into the return section, and the third will be from the fuge to the main return section.
I know that before i get this tank and the 29 gal for FW I'm gonna build a stand long enough for both the 29 and 55 sit on with about 3 to 5 inch gap between the two and about 1 - 2 inch space from the edge in the front, back, and side. I know I don't have to worry about how much room ther is with the 29 because the width is smaller than the 55. Of copurse the 38 sump/fuge will sit in the bottom of the cabinet under the 55.
This will be fun planning the stand, and then gather the materials to build it. the cabinet will be 79" x 15" x 36". The reason going 36" on the height is the 38 is about 20" high, so it will give me 16" of clearance, and should give me the room for the skimmer.
